Hybrid GuitarBass
I have strung a 1972 Fender Musicmaster (the student model of the 50s - 80s) with two bass strings in place of the bottom two strings on guitar, partly as an experiment, and partly due to the fact that some venues do not have entertainment licenses, thereby only having a maximum of two musicians. This arrangement enables a variety of sounds, and in conjunction with an electronic crossover, it is possible to get two separate sounds through two separate amps, without destroying the guitar amp with any bass! Click here for examples of some different styles, possible with this guitar. Call me if you would like hybrid guitarbass for your record or gig. See also my One-Man-Band page for my solo act, “The Monophonic Orchestra”.
